2009 Walk/Run |
| On July
11, 2009, the morning of Dundee Daze many walkers and
runners took a
beautiful scenic jaunt on the trails of the Kettle Moraine forest.
They chose to run or walk on the trail from Long Lake or Mauthe Lake to the Dundee Sportsman's
Club finish line, located on Hwy. 67 in Dundee, WI. Participants
appreciated their shirts and the many donated items given them: filled
goody bags, bottled water, cheeses, and bananas. They had a
great time and helped make a real difference in the lives of the thousands
of people
affected by Parkinson Disease. A big thank you to all of our sponsors
who made that possible. Please check out the end of this page for 2009
sponsor list. |

| On Wednesday, August 19, 2009, a check in the amount of $8,000 was
presented to Jay Blankenship, Executive Director
of the Wisconsin Parkinson
Association
(WPA) and Dacy Reimer, WPA
outreach coordinator. The funds were raised
at
Kenny's Walk/Run for Parkinson Disease,
through the efforts of the newly formed group, Kettle Moraine Cares
consisting of individuals from Dundee, Long Lake, Kewaskum, West Bend
and points between.
The presentation took place in
Kewaskum in conjunction with a community dinner hosted by local Modern
Woodmen agent, Jeff Jaeger. Modern Woodmen was one of the major
sponsors of the event raising the funds. |

| We had 50 volunteers who worked hard that day to make
sure the event ran smoothly. A total of approximately 200
participants (walkers or runners), came from various parts of the state
i.e. Fond du Lac, Washington, Sheboygan, Dodge, Ozaukee, Milwaukee,
Dane, Manitowoc Counties, and some came from out of state i.e. Illinois,
Virginia, Minnesota, and Arizona.
It was a beautiful day with a lot of excitement in the air.
There were many donated raffle prizes and the thrilled winners were
announced at noon.
Participants appreciated their shirts and the many donated items
given them: filled goody bags, bottled water, cheeses, and bananas.
A big thank you to all of our sponsors who made
that possible. Please check out the sponsor list by clicking on
that tab.
The "honor board" was filled with names of the people with
Parkinson Disease, who the walkers/runners were honoring. |
